Felony Drug Charge Reduced to a Misdemeanor on December 4, 2025

Our client, Stephen, was arrested for possessing a controlled substance for sale. This was a straight felony. In other words, if the client would have pled guilty to this, he would have been a convicted felon. Through successful negotiation with our wonderful prosecutor, we were able to reduce the offense to a misdemeanor and give our client a second chance. Felony probation is generally 2 years on an offense like this. If he were a convicted felon, he would have a probation officer that would check in with him that could show up to his house, unannounced. In this case, we were able to resolve the case for summary probation which means there is no formal probation officer assigned to his case. He was required to attend NA meetings as well as do a certain number hours of community service.
